  Let me start by pointing out the evident, the iPhone has set the bar so high for smart phones that every phone that comes out claiming to be an “iPhone Killer” usually ends up succumbing to the grandeur of the iPhone. Examples? Samsung Instict, G1, My touch 3G, and the most recent case, “The Palm Pre.” I agree the iPhone lacks some facial appearance that are standard on other phones, but what the iPhone does, it does it so well, that you can’t find a anything to come even close to it. The problem is most phone manufacturers are subdue competing against the the first iPhone, and Apple has went on far beyond that. The “Droid” wont be an iPhone killer, and I can promise it will be forgotten and overshadowed by the iPhone 4th generation. As far as expecting an iPhone for Verizon, no words yet on any talks between Apple and Verizon. On the other hand, all the terrible publicity Verizon is building against the iPhone and ATT suggest here wont be a partnership.

  Don’t hold your breath for a Verizon iPhone. Here hasn’t been a peep about even the possibility since April. If you’re going with Verizon, the droid is probably the most fascinating phone they have. While it will probably end up as iPhone roadkill eventually, it’s cool for the moment.

  Broadpoint thinks otherwise for Verizon iPhone possibly after contract is over with ATT & Apple.

  I like my Macbook Pro and have been a VZW customer for over 13 being…

  I reckon the Droid may be the one I’ve been waiting for…time to get rid of the “clam bombard”.

  And basically with the possibility of an iPhone for VZW…I’m not holding my breath…I’ll believe it when I see it…for now it’s all about the Droid!

  If you’re worried about not having iTunes…I’ve heard excellent things from Double Twist…

  Remember…Droid has turn by turn GPS…better than probably all the pay for service in itunes App store…language of apps…I just read an condition touting 12000 for Google now…not up to Apple standards but no the worst…

  I am not going to try to get into the battle of iPhone or something else. I am a proud iPhone user and I take place to like Apple products a fantastic deal. But, I admit that here are certain facial appearance that other smartphones have that the iPhone does not have, such as a physical keyboard. My opinion on that is that the iPhone is probably the best looking smartphone on the promote. The public perception of Apple products in general is sleekness. Adding a physical keyboard has potential to jeopardize the sleek looks of the iPhone, which is not to say that Apple is not looking at it. If anything, Apple is extremely thorough in development of their products. This is why it took a year for them to come out with a model that is 3G capable.

  I have read several reviews regarding the Droid. It has potential to place a dent in the promote for the iPhone and place strong pressure on Apple to add improvements. But, I advise against buying the Droid just because it is an iPhone killer. The Droid is being marketed as an iPhone killer by showing how it does things that the iPhone cannot do, such as have a physical keyboard. But, whatever the iPhone does, it does best, better than any other smartphone on the promote. Its applications smash competitors. Here are nearly 100,000 applications available for the iPhone and the App Store is an efficient way for developers to make a profit from their applications. Also, iPhone’s multi-touch capabilities are far superior to competitors. In small, what I am adage is that the iPhone plays to its strengths better than any other smartphone. Whatever it can do, it does best. If a smartphone is to be a real iPhone killer, then it will have to beat the iPhone (and Apple) at its own game.
